If you were disappointed with your kids school photos and you would rather have something a little more traditional then read on as this may be of interest.
My eldest daughter started school a couple of years ago now and we like every parent were excited about receiving her first school photo. Even though I love modern photography and creating bright fun interactive images day to day, I really believe that school photos have a traditional style that shouldn’t be lost. They’re not exciting or fun in any way but I still remember going to my Grandparents house and scattered around were photos of my brother and I along with all my cousins on a range of brown or blue canvas backdrops in our various school uniforms. There was something truly comforting about that.
This is why when Graces first school photos came home on a white background with forced smiles, I was really disappointed with the results. Asking around, it seems the traditional background school photos just don’t happen anymore so I needed to take matters in to my own hands.
I got straight on the internet and looked around and found a background that looked how I remembered and at the end of Graces reception year, she came to the studio and had what I see as her first proper school photos taken.

Once I posted them online, there were several parents I know that commented that they really liked the old style photos and wished they could have them done as well so this year, that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
On Monday the 18th of July from 15:00 – 18:00; Wednesday the 20th of July from 15:00 -18:00 or Friday the 22nd of July from 10:00 – 14:00, you can book your own 15 minute session at the Made Portraits studio for your child to come in and have their school photo done without the production line rush that happens at school. This costs just £25 and includes up to 3 images as High Resolution Digital Files and an 8×6 print of each of those images.
